A new book out by photographic artist Steve Bloom called Living Africa (Thames and Hudson) showcases stunning photographs of life in Africa.

As Bloom says in the introduction, this is not a comprehensive study of its inhabitants, but an attempt to capture the “heartbeat” that throbs across the continent. Despite great hardships, it’s a place of hope, life and vibrancy. His goal is to provide readers with flashes of the spark of life connecting us all, celebrating moments of joy, moments of sadness and some of the magic in between – his portrayal as much about the resilience of the human spirit as it is about the wildlife’s battle for survival.
