Throughout September New Scientist is running a photo competition – we want your photos on the theme of motion and science.

Submit your entries here.

It might have been a spinning superconductor that caught your eye in a lab, or a bouncing bug in your back garden that got you thinking about how creepy-crawlies actually creep and crawl. A summer surfing trip may have led to you pondering how weather systems affect the swell – and how it could help you catch that perfect wave.

Whatever the subject, we are looking for the best of your creativity: a great photo and an interesting explanation of its relation to science and motion.

The best entry will be published as a Picture of the Day at the start of October.

A gallery of entries will appear here. So, get moving and submit your photo here.

Full terms and conditions are available here.
