Ozone Depletion: Health and Environmental Consequences edited by Robin
Russell Jones and Tom Wigley, Wiley, pp 280, Pounds sterling 35

THE PROCEEDINGS of a conference on the problems of stratospheric ozone
depletion, held in London in November 1988, have at last been published.
The title is misleadingly restrictive – contributions actually cover all
aspects of the ozone problem plus a section on global warming and discussion
of political aspects. This makes it an invaluable handbook for anyone concerned
about the changing atmosphere, and it is a pity only that it has taken so
long to appear and that the price is so ludicrously high.
