ELEVEN young red kites, imported from Spain earlier this year, were
released from a secret location in Britain last week in a bid to re-establish
the endangered species in England and Scotland after a century-long absence.

A similar exercise was carried out last year but 2 of the 11 birds released
were poisoned. The population in Wales is in a healthier state.
