'Wimps' man wins

The man who earned notoriety for describing Australian scientists as
‘wimps’, last week won election to the executive board of UNESCO. Barry
Jones, who made his infamous reference when he was Australia’s science minister,
was ousted from Bob Hawke’s cabinet in March 1990.
