To help him spend the £6 million made available for the new Darwin
Initiative on global biodiversity over the next three years, Britain’s environment
secretary Michael Howard this week announced the formation of an advisory
committee. It will be chaired by Crispin Tickell, former British ambassador
to the UN and permanent secretary of the Overseas Development Administration.
