Why are there so few women in scientific positions? ‘We weren’t looking
for a woman,’ ‘You’re too pretty to be in science,’ ‘Women aren’t logical
like men are.’ The laws have changed but attitudes have not. Until those
hiring realise that a scientist is a scientist regardless of physical attributes,
the percentages are unlikely to change.
