Paintings by the 85-year-old synaesthetic painter Elizabeth Stewart-Jones, who sparked British research into the condition of seeing sounds in colour, will be on show at London’s Oriel Gallery (0171 483 1375) from 13 November to 8 December. Works will include The Thatcher Family, John and Norma Major (some synaesthetes even see the name in grey) and She coughed all through the Brahms.
