Netropolitan – the Science Museum

16 December 1995

APPROPRIATELY enough, the Science Museum has one of the most impressive web pages. The best starting point is http://www.nmsi.ac.uk/galleries/topobj2.htm. Click your mouse on the sign “enter here” and you are presented with a floor plan of the museum and some of the most interesting objects in the collection. On the ground floor, for instance, you will find the Lenoir gas engine of 1865 – the first commercially available internal combustion engine. Or you can keep up with the Science Museum’s travelling exhibition on the information superhighway on http://www.tecc.co.uk/science_museum/. The exhibition will be in Manchester until next month, at the Museum of Science and Industry, which can be found at http://www.u-net.com/set/msimanch/planet1.html. While the list of science-related museums on the Internet (http://nmsi.ac.uk/links/museums.html) just drips with information.
