New in paperback is moral philosopher Mary Midgley’s The Ethical Primate:
Humans, Freedom and Morality (Routledge, £8.99, ISBN 0 415 13224 X). In it
she continues her attempt to reconcile scientific thought with the way in which
we see the world every day, and in doing so examines the nature of human freedom
and its relation to personal identity.
