Stranded on the proverbial desert island after a near shipwreck, Robin and
Lucy struggle to fix their boat and their marriage. Watching them from the
trees, downed pilot Amelia Earhart recounts her survival over the years on the
same island. Hidden Latitudes by Alison Anderson (Charles Scribner, $21,
ISBN 0 684 82282 2) carefully weaves these two tales together, following their
physical and psychological journeys. A good read.
