Christmas books : Born boneless

16 November 1996

This is a funny book of animals that don’t have bones or brains and others that don’t have muscles or blood—or elbows, of course. I giggled like mad when I saw the octopus that couldn’t play tennis because it didn’t have any bones.

Phoebe (aged 6) on If I Didn’t Have Elbows by Sandi Toksvig and David Melling (De Agostini Editions, £6.99, ISBN 1 899883 29 0).
