The new Oxford Children’s Encyclopedia comes in nine volumes (£125,
ISBN 0 19 9 10173 6) or on CD-ROM (£60, ISBN 0 19 268340 3). The
animations, video clips and a particularly good picture search facility make the
CD better value and more versatile. Ideal for serendipitous discovery for the 8
to 13-year-old, but wait till after Christmas for the bug-free version.
