Review : Spacefaring caravan

Don’t go to Mission to Mir, the latest IMAX movie from the Smithsonian
Institution, for a history lesson (the Cold War is over. Oh…). Do go for
fascinating views of cramped and cosy Mir, the ageing Russian station that looks
like a spacefaring caravan taken over by the Borg. Do go for glimpses of
astronauts like Shannon Lucid, whose Midwestern optimism is as corny as it is
compelling. Spaceflight with a human face. Showing at the institution’s National
Air and Space Museum in Washington DC.
