Osdemir Keskin of Preston in Lancashire thinks he has found a way to ensure
that the leaning tower of Pisa leans no further than it already does.

Keskin wants to sink a 50-metre deep wall encircling the tower into the
ground (UK patent 2 297 987). A second wall would then be dug surrounding the
first. After excavating the earth between the two, the trench would be covered
to create a circular tunnel. This could then be flooded, marooning the tower on
an island. Keskin claims this will stop the tower toppling further.
