Review : Coping womanfully

Beware any book that begins “We are at a critical juncture”. But despite
its didactic tone, Asoka Bandarage’s Women, Population and Global Crisis makes a
useful stab at weaving the traditionally right-wing antagonism towards green
fears of a population explosion into the more familiar leftist territory of
environmentalism, feminism and anti-racism. Lots of “isms”, lots of paradigms
