Scrap polystyrene foam and fly ash could soon be holding up buildings and
keeping us warm. Colorado Building Technologies has found a way to mix
industrial waste with concrete to make a building material it calls Poly/Lite,
which is stronger and lighter than standard materials. As well as being only
half as dense as standard concrete, Poly/Lite is also a better insulator.
Colorado Building Technologies says Poly/Lite can also be formed into roof tiles
and bricks.
