Review : New wave, old guff

On a wave of New Age angst comes Ervin Laszlo’s 3rd Millennium: The
Challenge and the Vision. “Is there evidence for the possible coincidence of the
dawn of the third millennium and the coming of a new world?” he asks on page
one. “No” would be a useful answer. Instead, we get 150 pages of unfocused
spiritual guff on “cosmic responsibility”, the “non-materiality of matter” and
