Technofile : Fighting rotaviruses

A vaccine might soon be available to combat rotaviruses—the most
serious cause of diarrhoea in infants. Rotaviruses kill up to 1 million children
each year in developing countries.

Last month a panel of vaccine specialists told the US Food and Drug
Administration that the Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories vaccine works and appears to
be safe, a judgment that could herald full approval.
