A Natural History of Homosexuality by Francis Mark Mondimore is a
fascinating introduction to a complex subject. The ancient Greeks thought
nothing of it, some North American Indians deified it, but since the Middle
Ages, homosexuality has been vilified in Western culture. Mondimore traces this
turbulent and at times tragic history, and explores the latest psychological and
biological research into the roots of sexual orientation. Published by Johns
