Anyone who doubts the power that the oceans have to influence life on land
should take a look at http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/toga-tao/el-nino/home.html. This
is run by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and boasts a
wealth of El Niño links and information. NOAA also has its own page on
the International Year of the Ocean (http://www.yoto98.noaa.gov/).

If the hidden depths of the oceans are more your thing, take a look at the
pages put together by Paul Yancey at http://www.bmi.net/yancey/. He has an
impressive collection of photographs of the bizarre creatures that have been
dredged up from the deep.
