Technofile : Bend me, shape me

Scientists at IBM last week unveiled an easy method of placing, bending and
cutting carbon nanotubes. The researchers found that the van der Waals
forces—the weak electrostatic forces between molecules and atoms—are
strong enough to hold the tubes in place while they are bent and shaped by
atomic force microscopes.
