There’s no comprehensive date-checking along the lines of last year’s Cambridge
Illustrated History of Astronomy here. Instead, Wilson tells a story, putting
the great figures of astronomical lore into their historical context as well as
relating great discoveries and theories. Not so much a reference book as a good
