Wind turbines could become a common sight around the coast of Britain. Energy
minister John Battle announced last week that offshore wind projects would for
the first time be included in the Non-Fossil Fuel Obligation Order, the
government’s scheme for supporting renewable energy in England and Wales. Battle
hopes the offshore turbines will make a “substantial” contribution to Britain’s
electricity needs.
