Viagra is go

Viagra, the anti-impotence drug, was declared safe for sale in the European
Union this week by the European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products.
Britain’s health secretary, Frank Dobson, says that for the time being the
National Health Service will not pay for it, although Pfizer, the drug’s
manufacturer, says the company has already agreed prices with the NHS. Dobson
promises a definitive ruling in the next few weeks. Other European health
systems are still discussing with Pfizer how much they will pay for the drug.
Viagra will require a prescription across the EU.
