A PC keyboard has been developed that is impervious to the computer’s worst
enemy: fizzy drinks. After deliberately spilling drinks on a keyboard, Memtek of
Dortmund, Germany, found it was not the water but the sugar that does the
damage. It gums up the electrical contacts under the keys. Rubbery covers can
protect the keys, but hinder typing. Memtek’s new £13 keyboard has a
waterproof membrane underneath the keys and a drainage channel.
