Air conditioners of the future may adjust conditions according to the
temperature of the people in a room, rather than that of the air. A prototype
developed by Daikin Industries in Japan measures skin temperature using a
ring-like sensor worn on a finger. The information is relayed to the computer
that controls the air conditioner.
