Attempts to make a digital camera that can print out an instant picture have
been thwarted because the LCD screen on the back of the camera does not have a
high enough resolution to make a good-quality print. But Polaroid has an answer
(WO 01/17226). Its new camera displays the picture on a tiny LCD screen inside
the camera which has a much higher resolution. This image is reflected by a lens
and mirror system into the camera’s viewfinder. To print the shot, it is briefly
focused onto instant photographic film.
