If you hate parallel parking, clever cars may soon do it for you.
Siemens-owned Roke Manor Research in Hampshire has developed a prototype car
that can park all by itself. The car combines data from ultrasonic and radar
sensors and CCTV cameras to guide itself into a tight space. All the driver need
do is position the car ahead of the parking space. If its sensors detect an
unexpected obstacle, such as a pedestrian, it will pause to let them pass or try
to park around them.
