BUBBLE TROUBLE

The Norwegian government has rejected a proposed experiment to pump tonnes of liquid carbon dioxide into the waters off its shores. Some researchers believe dumping CO2 in liquid form deep in the ocean will help reduce the build-up of the gas in the atmosphere. In cold, deep waters, CO2 should stay liquid and not bubble back up to the surface, they say.
