João Magueijo, a reader in the Theoretical Physics Group at Imperial College, London. He finds inspiration for his unusual ideas in unusual places: on the beach in Goa’s hippy enclave watching ecstatic dancers waving goodnight to the Sun, walking in the rain in Cambridge or talking the night away in a late night dive in Notting Hill. His main aim? To get his ideas into the courtroom of experiment as soon as possible.
