Polio campaign

India has mounted a colossal vaccination programme to stamp out the world’s largest polio outbreak in recent years. To reach the 165 million children at risk, India has supplied 1.3 million health workers and volunteers with 200 million doses of vaccine.

Ebola outbreak

Six people are thought to have died of Ebola in the Republic of Congo, Brazzaville, and another 16 deaths are being investigated. The outbreak reportedly started when people ate primates that died of the disease.
