Bluetooth enters the wacky races

A REMOTE-controlled toy car steered using a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone is about to hit the streets.

The executive toy car, which is just a little bigger than a matchbox, will be controlled using a phone’s cursor keys or control pad. Pressing another key will make the pocket-sized vehicle change up or down a gear.

The car is the first of a new generation of Bluetooth gadgets. The Bluetooth wireless connection system is more usually used to link a mobile phone to a headset or PC, for example. But a number of companies are examining how Bluetooth-enabled phones can be used…
