THESE days, Greenpeace is a global brand. It has become an organisation that is feared around the world by corporations and governments alike.

A mere 35 years ago, Greenpeace was a bunch of hippy peaceniks and whale-lovers taking on the world from a leaky boat sailing out of Vancouver, Canada. In this wonderfully well-told 600-page epic, one of the founders tells of the old days in his eponymous Greenpeace: An insider’s account. Good history, and a wonderful wallow for all ageing hippies who got the green zeitgeist.
