Cartoon Guide to Chemistry by Larry Gonick & Craig Criddle

Booms and stinks are the fun parts of chemistry. Understanding the principles behind them rather less so, and many a potential chemist abandons ship as their college course sails into the quagmire of entropy and Gibbs free energy. Larry Gonick’s latest Cartoon Guide offers them a lifeboat. With Stanford professor Craig Criddle, he clearly explains the essence of chemistry. Equations seem much less frightening when they share the page with his cartoon atoms. It may not tell you as much as a good chemistry textbook, but you’ll remember more of what it says.
