Don’t drink and drive

In a new road traffic bill published earlier this year the British government expressed its intention of providing stricter control over the consumption of alcohol and other drugs by road users. It is hoped that by introducing tests to determine alcohol content in blood, urine or breath, the courts will be helped in their decisions about the unfitness to drive of motorists charged with drunken driving. Drivers found to have consumed alcohol beyond certain upper limits may be liable to incur a penalty, because of the assumed deterioration of their driving skill.
