Big business smells the cash in carbon cuts

TIME was when industry baulked at action to cut its emissions of greenhouse gases. But as the UN climate negotiations opened in Bali, Indonesia, on Tuesday, 150 of the world’s largest businesses – from Nestlé to Shell – called for tougher targets to cut global emissions by at least 50 per cent by 2050.

The biggest and smartest beasts in the corporate jungle figure they can make money from combating climate change.
