Sun sets on Sunshine Project

After eight years exposing safety lapses at US biodefence facilities, the Sunshine Project – a non-profit organisation in Austin, Texas, that monitors the use of biological agents – is closing due to lack of funding. “It was always a struggle to raise funds,” says Ed Hammond, who ran the project. “You can only work under these circumstances for so long.”
