Touch screens are changing the face of hand-held gadgets – can “touch skins” do the same in sport? Apple thinks so, and is patenting a way of wrapping electronic touch-sensitive materials around items like golf clubs, cricket bats, tennis rackets and even darts. The user’s grip can then be monitored for training purposes.

Airbus wants to make its passenger jets bulletproof.
