Help for the heart

More than 200 Europeans who have had a heart attack will be offered treatment with bone marrow stem cells selected for their ability to escape rejection. The hope is that the cells will help heal damaged heart muscle and build new blood vessels, says Mesoblast, the company which won approval for the trial this week, based in Melbourne, Australia.
