Does Brussels impose quackery?

People in the UK are bracing for the debate on whether to stay in the European Union – the Conservative party, just elected, promised a referendum by 2017. One anti-EU newspaper has set a disturbingly low bar. On the eve of the general election The Daily Telegraph thundered that “a new EU directive which came into force in January” forces organic farmers to treat sick livestock with homeopathy.
