This week, I have been enjoying two biologists kicking around big issues on the Armchair Expert podcast. Lee Hood and Nathan Price roam far and wide, tackling the impact of artificial intelligence on medicine and the future of personalised healthcare. But I was most intrigued by Price’s idea that a build-up of amyloid protein in the brain might be a consequence of Alzheimer’s disease, not its cause.
