Becky Ferreira

Becky Ferreira is a science reporter based in Ithaca, New York. She covers space, archaeology, palaeontology, climate change and the intersection of science and culture. She writes the weekly science column The Abstract for 404 Media, and has bylines in The New York Times, VICE, New Scientist, WIRED, MIT Technology Review and The Washington Post, among others. She has also appeared as an expert guest on the Science Channel and hosted the Motherboard video series "Space Show". Becky’s book First Contact: The History and Future of the Search for Alien Life is due out from Workman Publishing in autumn 2025.
