James Urquhart is a freelance science journalist, writer, and filmmaker from East Lothian, Scotland. He has a BSc in biology and history and philosophy of science from Leeds, an MSc in science communication from Imperial College London, and a MA in history of medicine from Newcastle University. He has written and reported for BBC News, BBC Science Focus, Chemistry World, Cosmos, Hakai, New Scientist, and TGO (formerly The Great Outdoors). He still films and edits when he's not writing, most recently interviewing a glaciologist on an extinct volcano in Edinburgh for a Greenlandic TV broadcast.
