Letter: Relatively poetic

Published 25 November 1995

From Alan Watson

If my memory serves, Reginald Butler’s jingle had a second verse (Letters, 26 August and 14 October). With no claims to accuracy, I recall it went some thing like this:

Said Bright the lass to friends in light chatter

I’ve learnt something new about matter

For my speed was so great

That I put on much weight

But wasn’t the slightest bit fatter.
