Letter: How many legs?

Published 5 September 1998

From David Julyan

I don’t wish to add to the problems of naming “creepy-crawlies”
(Letters, 15 August, p 53),
but shouldn’t the millipede be renamed the kilopede? After all,
it has around a thousand legs, not a thousandth of a leg.
