With regard to symbols lost in the transfer from wordprocessing files to print
(Feedback, 5 June),
a few years ago we used to send MS Word files prepared
on a PC to a printer that transferred them into Word for Mac and then to
QuarkXpress. Our initial problems were annoying, but did at least allow the
correction to be printed under the heading: “Pi Lost in Apple.”
