Letter: Computer work offer

Published 18 May 2005

From Lawrence Hardin

The IBM-supported distributed computer organisation World Community Grid is looking for new research projects that can run their computer program on Windows PCs (and soon on Linux X86 systems). Since November 2004 the World Community Grid and www.grid.org have been jointly running the Human Proteome Folding project. The WCG administrator announced on 3 May that the project might be finished as soon as August 2005 and that an active search is under way to find more computer projects to run: see www.worldcommunitygrid.org/projects_showcase/submit_a_proposal.html
