Letter: Rising tide

Published 15 August 2007

From Bruce Denness

James Hansen forecast that sea level will rise by 5 metres by 2100 and, in support, referred to the end of the last ice age when sea level rose by 1 metre every 20 years (28 July, p 30). I forecast effectively the same thing for the same reason more than 20 years ago in a letter to New Scientist (13 February 1986, p 50). It’s good to see other climatologists are catching up.
